Permanent Methane Elimination

JB Wells, and its partners, are building the definitive platform for methane elimination through marginal oil and gas well closures in the United States. We execute permanent well plugging at scale while delivering independently verified methane abatement credits that meet the highest standards of measurement transparency and environmental integrity.

Permanent Well Closures

We identify and permanently plug marginal oil and gas wells that would otherwise continue emitting methane indefinitely. Each closure eliminates emissions at the source and removes perpetual liability. Each closed well represents avoided harmful methane from continuously leaking into the atmosphere. This work represents high-impact climate results.

ICR-Validated Methodology

Our methodology was pioneered as the only formally validated and published Permanent Abandonment of Marginal Oil and Natural Gas Wells methodology on the International Carbon Registry (ICR). All projects are also 3rd party verified by Carbon Check.

End-to-End MVR

The partnership has refined its end-to-end capabilities and now originates eligible marginal well opportunities, executes plugging and abandonment (P&A) and site restoration, and manages annual measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) and registry requirements for its methane abatement projects.
